The future is bright for the solar energy sector in Egypt. Until the government took serious steps to promote and expand the renewable energy market in the country, the government budget on electricity subsidies exceeded that which were allotted for healthcare, education, and social welfare. This solar park is set to become known as the world’s largest solar installation with the capability of producing over 2,000 MW of power. If that pushes through, it is capable of lighting thousands of homes and businesses in Egypt.
