- Solar Inverter Transformer: The second application is the solar inverter. When the current is generated in the solar panels, it is a direct current or DC. To make it usable for households, solar inverters convert this DC to AC.

A transformer has a metallic core with coils on two sides. In Solar Transformers, the number of primary windings is more than the secondary windings.
Due to electromagnetic induction, the current from the primary coil gets transferred to the secondary coil. The current gets stepped up due to the secondary windings.
