Solar Energy in China Overview

As of right now, China is the world’s largest market for both photovoltaics and solar thermal energy. In addition to that, China has also been the world’s leading installer of solar photovoltaics, and in 2015, they became the world’s largest producer of photovoltaic power, just narrowly surpassing Germany. Moreover, China was the first country to pass 100 GW of cumulative installed PV capacity, and by the end of 2018, that number peaked at 174 GW.
