In the hallowed halls of MIT's Muddy Charles, the seed of inspiration sprouted for what would become Sistine Solar back in 2012. Amidst the spirited pursuit of dreams, a compelling question took root: "What would the world look like if solar energy were truly beautiful?" This query, like the most infectious ideas, lingered and evolved, setting the course for our unwavering mission. Fast forward two years, and the embryonic concept of SolarSkin emerged with the audacious image of the Starbucks logo on a prototype solar panel. It may have resembled a science fair exhibit more than a tangible product, but from these modest origins, our vision began to soar. A crucial nod from the US Department of Energy, the meticulous development of a versatile color palette harmonizing with any roof aesthetic, and the triumphant completion of durability tests at prestigious centers like NREL and Fraunhofer CSE propelled us forward. The year 2016 marked our commercial launch and welcomed our inaugural customer into the Sistine Solar family. Since then, SolarSkin has graced installations across more than two dozen states, transforming the mundane into the extraordinary. As the panels adorn rooftops, we witness the sheer joy and excitement in the eyes of consumers encountering SolarSkin's aesthetic marvels. The impact extends beyond the visual allure; we're inundated with daily inquiries from individuals previously unacquainted with the possibility of solar energy, showcasing the transformative power of design.
