Here are the top five business schools for those seeking to maximize the likelihood of securing an environmentally oriented job. This list was compiled by by US Green Technology and they are presented in ascending order by the cost of tuition cost.
Portland State University School of Business Administration
The MBA program at this school allows students to specialize in areas such as social responsibility, metrics for sustainable enterprise, and product design and stewardship. The school has its own Center for Global Leadership in Sustainability, which is home to an annual sustainability conference.
The tuition is over $18,000.
Clark University Graduate School of Management
This school has a dual MBA/MA Environmental Science and Policy program, where students can take classes in energy and development, management of environmental pollutants and green business management. The school itself has decreased its output of paper by 80 percent.
The tuition is over $27,000.
University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business
This school of business provides a certificate in business, environment and social responsibility in tandem with the Nelson Institute of Environmental Studies. The building itself uses daylight and recycling in addition to suppressing storm-water runoff.
The tuition is over $25,000.
University of Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business
This business school offers courses for those seeking environmental jobs, such as environmental accounting and making a business’ supply chain greener. At the school, decreasing energy usage via changing computer settings and eradicating paper cups and bottled water has made a green difference.
The tuition is over $40,000.
University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business
This school of business features an Erb Institute for Global Sustainable Enterprise – a partnership between the Ross School of Business and the School of Natural Resources. The school’s building is LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver certified; it is 25 percent more efficient than other types of construction and decreases the use of water by more than 50 percent.
