Greenpeace%2527s%2BBest%2BElectronics Greenpeaces Best Green ElectronicsGreenpeace’s product survey lists the greenest electronics available to consumers as of the firstquarter of 2011. These products were ranked according to theirminimization of hazardous substances and energy efficiency. Greenpeacealso assessed these products according to how easy they are to recycleas well as the energy they require for production.

According to Greenpeace, the electronics industry is getting greener. ReneeBlanchard, Greenpeace International Toxics Campaigner said,"our surveyshows that electronics manufacturers have made demonstrable progressover the past few years by producing products that are free of the worst toxic chemicals, more energy efficient and more easily taken back forreuse or recycling. Major brands are responding to consumer demand forgreener gadgets, and we expect them to continue to innovate and make all their products, and not just a niche few, with these higher greenstandards."

Greenpeace tested the greenest modelssubmitted by 14 companies and presented their findings in their productsurvey. This report evaluated the greenest desktop computers, computermonitors, notebook computers, netbook computers, smartphones, mobilephones and televisions. Here are the best green electronics in eachcategory.
