Oerlikon Systems saysa Europe-based crystalline solar cell manufacturer has placed an orderfor multiple SOLARIS systems. The equipment is scheduled to bedelivered next year.
SOLARIS is designed for front-side andback-side coating of crystalline silicon solar cells using clean plasmavapor deposition sputtering technology. Its multi-layer capabilityallows passivation and SiN coating on the front side, as well ascoating of the back-side, with various materials. Its small footprint(3.3 meters x 2.2 meters) and easy integration into existing productionlines give SOLARIS a low cost of ownership, according to OerlikonSystems.
